died in a dream

i had a dream that i was driving down the freeway and completely missed a turn. the car collided into a barrier. i died and so did two friends who were riding with me. the three of us walked away from our bodies and realized that we were dead but still in this world. then the dream ended. does anyone have any ideas about what this might have symbolized?

    Do you sometimes dream in puns? Freeway... out of body but still in the world... Liberating? Maybe you wish to be free of some responsibility but you don't want to leave? Just sort of take a break? Maybe you didn't want to take your turn? But when you refused to take your turn, ie, own up to your responsibility, you met a barrier. Maybe you need to overcome a barrier in order to take your turn? I am just guessing.
