I had a dream that there was construction going on in this room in the basement of where I work, which we call the dungeon. When a wall was knocked down, an elaborate, ornate, but run-down old mansion was revealed. In the old mansion lived (here's where it gets weird) a family of half-human/half-kangaroos! Mangaroos! The man mangaroo asked me if I'd get some juice off the shelf for him (they were quite short) but all that was on the shelf was cough syrup & Southern Comfort. I told him there was no juice up there & he said, "Oh yeah... I call that 'juice.'" I felt bad that this family was trapped in there with nothing but booze & cough syrup so I told him I'd get them some juice!
There was more to the dream, but the rest is much easier for me to analyze. What on earth do you think the mangaroos mean?!
Also, I had a dream that my beloved old cat (now deceased in real life) had died & I put him in a shoe box in the trunk of my car so i could take his body to be cremated, but I forgot about him for a couple of weeks & was afraid to open the trunk because it had been very warm that week & I knew it had to be really decomposed. Gross! (Now that I think about it, that happened exactly 2 years from the day he died, but I didn't realize that until just now. Maybe my subconscious knew...)

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Sat, March 17, 2007 - 3:30 AMInteresting and …funny, dream.
Did you ever read Jung's biography 'Memories, dreams, reflections' ?
He too had several dreams of secret rooms that he discovered in 'his' house.
Though here, the place is related to 'your work' it could also be understood at a symbolic level. Especially if this particular room is a 'dungeon', which is the place where the army retreats when enemies already invaded the castle. It could stand for a symbol of the center of the personnality, either that of your EGO or the SELF. 'Houses' are often a symbol of the ego.
'Discovering a new room in the house', could stand for 'opening new perspectives for your psyche', either at a psychological, spiritual, or professional level. These possibilities always pre-exist (the 'old' ornate mansion) but it can be difficult to make them become 'real' : conscious, as they are stored in the 'dusty old' unconscious.
What 'mangaroos' are, I can not tell you, you will have to give it some thinking. What do kangaroos associate with, for you ?
Half man/half human probably means that this new potential is still in a primitive form and that it still needs to evolve. This could be why the mangaroos ask for 'juice' (energy ?). Now that you have access to them you can give them some more appropiate food.
I wonder if this makes any sense with the rest of the dream ?

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Sat, March 17, 2007 - 8:11 AMI should clarify on The Dungeon. It's just a storage room & the place we use as a coat check room. It just has this enormous, sliding steel door like on 19th century warehouse type places... hence the name. There's nothing particularly spooky about it. Also, I'm leaving this job after having been there for several years, so I don't know if that thrown another angle into it. -

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Sat, March 17, 2007 - 1:57 PMWell, I did not take the Dungeon 'litterally', but it seems that your unconscious did !
In dreams such litteral translation of words/concepts into images (or sometimes the other way around) is common.
The meaning of this dream could be : something new emerges from something old. The dungeon being identified with the 'old situation'--> the previous job. The 'mangaroos' could be some funny association that your unconscious made with the upcoming situation.
Could they mean that you should 'jump on the opportunity' ? haha

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Thu, March 22, 2007 - 9:38 AMWhat aspect of the mangaroos was most noticeable (did I spell that right?) to you? I think that makes a big difference to the interpretation. For instance, if it was the tail, your beastie maybe indicating balance or a need to be rooted. If it was the pouch, you may have an idea that you need to tuck away and let it gestate, or you may need to explore your 2nd & 3rd chakras. If it was the legs, then I definitely think taking a new leap is important.
Something that stands out to me is that both "juices" have a common ingredient: alcohol. And you were disturbed because they didn't have anything else to nurture them. Does anyone you know have an alcohol problem? -

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Thu, March 22, 2007 - 10:04 AMI think the most noticeable aspect was their big round bottom-halves... butt, legs, belly...I don't recall noticing the tail or pouch.
As for the alcohol, I work in a restaurant, so half the staff has a drinking problem! I guess recently, I have been concerned about one particular friend's drinking & drug use, though. -

Too funny - in a dark humor kind of way! Would the big-round-bottom-halves have anything to do with body-image issues? (I'm a bellydancer, that's immediately where my mind goes.) -

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Thu, March 22, 2007 - 2:37 PMI'm a bellydancer, too! But no, if anything I'm too skinny. I thought of the round-bottomed kangaroo-shape in the dream as something cute, I think. Like a real kangaroo. -

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Fri, March 23, 2007 - 8:09 AMThe fact that these Mangaroos (now a classic on tribe.net) were a 'family' should not be underestimated either …
Do you allow me to create a cartoon called 'The mangaroos' ?? -

Re: Bizarre... even for me
Fri, March 23, 2007 - 2:52 PMOh please do! I was saying the day after I had the dream that if I could draw I'd sketch the Mangaroo family out!
Also, I don't recall there being a mother mangaroo. Just a dad & some kids. -
